H Les Béguines Extra-Brut Jérôme Prévost 2017
Information
La Closerie is run by Jérôme Prévost, a winegrower who released his first wine in the late 1990s. Having taken over his grandmother’s vineyards in Gueux, in the heart of Champagne, he tends his two hectares or so of vines with great care, growing the region’s iconic grape variety, Pinot Meunier, with the utmost respect for the soil and biodiversity. Each vine receives individual treatment, tailored to its specific needs, so that it can express its unique character. In the winery, low-intervention winemaking is used, with only minimal added SO2. The estate’s aim is to allow the terroir and the grapes to develop their full range of aromas naturally, in order to create unique wines. It is thus in this serene environment that the winemaker takes pride in crafting authentic, fresh and elegant wines that perfectly reflect the region’s grape varieties and unique terroir.
