Information
Domaine Chevalier is a family estate founded in the mid-19th century by Emile Chevalier in the Côte de Beaune region. Claude Chevalier has been at the helm since 1994, seconded by his three daughters. The estate owns some fifteen hectares of vines, including Chardonnays in the world-famous Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, which shine in this bottle. The region’s noble grape variety thrives in an oceanic climate with a semi-continental influence, and draws the nutrients it requires from the limestone and marl soils. Aged in wood, the wine offers an interesting ageing potential of up to ten years. It reveals a yellow colour with green reflections in its youth which, with time, evolve towards gold. A thick disk hints at the richness of the wine, which is reflected in its full-bodied texture and powerful aroma, revealing notes of citrus fruit, white fruit, floral scents and sweet spices.
