Information
Christian Confuron owns a small domaine in Vougeot in the Côte de Nuits. Its name evokes the Domaine Jack Confuron-Cotetidot but these are two very distinct areas. The prices have remained very affordable.
Stretching across some of Burgundy’s finest terroirs, from Comblanchien to Chambolle-Musigny, the estate includes the Les Vaucrains climat, one of the most renowned in Nuits-Saint-Georges, which produces rich, tannic wines. The Pinot Noir vines, planted on the steep slopes of the Côte d’Or, thrive in this high-quality terroir. Each vine benefits from the ideal amount of sunshine to help the grapes attain peak ripeness. Once harvested, the grapes are vinified in the purest Burgundian tradition, with as little intervention as possible and minimal doses of sulphur.
The intense red colour is complemented by a bouquet exuding with aromas of small fruit combined with subtle notes of undergrowth. The rich, deep palate is perfectly structured with pronounced tannins and luscious fruit aromas, culminating in a long, persistent finish. This cuvée promises excellent ageing potential.
