Information
The legendary Leroy house in Auxey-Duresses was created by François Leroy in 1868. At the beginning of the following century, Henri Leroy contributed greatly to making these wines famous, and his daughter, Lalou Bize-Leroy, took over in 1971. Moreover, this icon of Burgundy made itself renowned by buying the Domaine Charles Noëllat to create its own domain. The Leroy family is also co-owner of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti with the Villaine family. The wines of the Leroy house have an exemplary quality. No doubt this is the greatest Burgundy wine. The grapes are meticulously selected; they must come from at least responsibly cultivated vines. The winemaking and maturing are carried out with as much care as in the domain that produces exceptional wines.
The picturesque village of Chambolle-Musigny strives to preserve the full potential of its exceptional terroir, producing delicate wines that are considered to be the most delicate
in the Côte de Nuits. Firmly persuaded that great wines begin in the vineyard, the estate has banned all chemicals from its vines in favour of more environmentally friendly viticulture. The principles of biodynamic viticulture were introduced very quickly, along with knowledge of the cosmic rhythms that influence soil regeneration. These rigorous techniques applied to the vines are extended to the winery, with low-intervention winemaking methods.
The dark colour of this Chambolle-Musigny promises a fragrant bouquet. The seductive nose reveals exhilarating aromas of red and black fruit. The ample and generous palate is enhanced by present, perfectly controlled tannins leading to a deliciously long finish. This 100% Pinot Noir will happily age for around ten years in the cellar.
