The Bourgogne Grand Ordinaire and Bourgogne Ordinaire appellations, established in 1937, reflect everyday wines, and include red, rosé and white wines from across the Burgundy winegrowing landscape. Passionate and ambitious, Bernard Van Berg’s ambition is to reveal the finest qualities of these renowned appellations. The red wines, which can be produced from Gamay, are mainly crafted from Pinot Noir vines. The winemaker is bringing old-fashioned precepts and tools up to date through natural, organic viticulture. Unsurprisingly, the estate also practises low-intervention vinification following manual harvesting.
The bright, radiant ruby colour is complemented by an expressive bouquet of red fruits mingling with light spicy notes. The expressive, structured palate reveals delicate and fine tannins leading to a lingering flavoursome finish.
