Information
Domaine Gérérard Mugneret in Vosne-Romanée is not very well known or widespread and this is a shame. Gérard Mugneret and his wife Françoise have indeed raised their company to a very high level. The vineyard is now run by their son Pascal maintaining the same philosophy. The wines are exceptional, in a perfectly classical style, particularly expressive whilst retaining great finesse and considerable subtlety.
Domaine Gérard Mugneret, located in Vosne-Romanée, is a rather discreet estate. And yet the iDealwine team absolutely loves their work, because the wines they produce offer a finesse, a delicacy and a certain subtlety that are particularly appreciable in a noble grape variety like Pinot Noir. The vines thrive in an oceanic climate with semi-continental influences and, thanks to responsible viticulture, draw the nutrients they need from soils consisting of limestone and marl. Aged in oak, the wine displays a beautiful, intense red colour with hints of purple that turn garnet over time. On the palate, we detect aromas of red and black fruit, leather, and floral notes such as violet, with a touch of liquorice on the finish. The tannins are very present but round, creating a delicious impression of suppleness.
