The Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru from Domaine Jean-Claude Boisset is a prestigious wine produced in one of the largest winegrowing areas of the Côte de Nuits. This terroir enjoys an ideal eastern exposure and is characterised by its limestone and stony marl soils, offering perfect conditions for Pinot Noir vines to thrive. The vineyard covers 0.25 hectares and is the vines, which are on average 40 years old, are pruned using the Guyot method. The harvest is manual and the bunches are meticulously sorted twice. Fermentation involves only native yeasts and no oenological additives. The juice is punched down 4 times to extract the very best from the grapes. The wine is aged for 15 months on lees in French oak casks with 40% new wood.
In the glass, this nectar displays an intense ruby-red colour and releases aromas of red berry fruit, peony, vanilla and undergrowth. On the palate, it is silky with nicely integrated tannins and ripe fruit flavours, offering a refined and elegant taste experience.
