Founded in 1824 by John Haig, the Cameronbridge distillery—now owned by Diageo—is one of the largest grain distilleries in the world. Taking an approach ahead of its time since it was first founded, the distillery was one of the first to be equipped with patent stills designed by Robert Stein (the founder’‘s cousin) and Coffey stills. It was also a founding member of DCL (now Diageo) alongside eight other grain distilleries that had a quasi-monopoly over grain production in Scotland. It was also the first to produce a Scottish single grain, proudly named Cameron Brig.

A Cameronbridge 27 year old single cask (#3526) distilled in 1979 and bottled in 2006. Duncan Taylor was originally a cask broker founded in Glasgow in 1938. The company moved into independent bottling in 2001 after it was bought by Euan Shand, a former employee of Glendronach, who moved the company to Huntly, Aberdeen, and made the most of the many casks available to it. A limited edition of 138 bottles for La Maison du Whisky, a whisky and spirits importer and distributor founded by Georges Bénitah in 1956.
