Information
Tino Kuban, a passionate and enthusiastic winemaker, took over the reins of Domaine Bernard van Berg located in Meursault, giving it the charming name we know today, Les Jardins Vivants (The Living Gardens). He cultivates one and a half hectares of vines at the heart of this exceptional terroir, where low yields and early-morning harvests guarantee premium quality fruit. Alongside his rigorous work as a winemaker, Tino has developed his own wine merchant business, Maison Glandien. He sources grapes from partner winemakers and friends located in various winegrowing regions, including Burgundy and Beaujolais, as well as Alsace and the Jura. He seeks out grapes from sustainable, integrated viticulture that comply with his high quality standards. During the vinification process, spontaneous fermentation, minimal use of sulphites and ageing in used barrels all guarantee authentic, flavoursome wines.
The La Flandre cuvée is made exclusively from Chardonnay vines grown in the prestigious Arbois vineyard. Maison Glandien cultivates this grape variety with loving care, enabling it to express all the specific characteristics and personality of the terroir with finesse. Each parcel of Chardonnay enjoys the benefits of organic viticulture combined with a natural approach. In the vineyard, harvests are conducted at peak ripeness in the early hours to avoid oxidation caused by light and heat. This extremely qualitative raw material is then meticulously sorted and vinified as naturally as possible.
The glistening colour and golden tints unveil an expressive floral and fruity bouquet, delicately infused with notes of citrus and pear. The fruity and mineral palate displays greedy aromas of brioche perfectly integrated in a superb structure, leading to a delicious fresh finish.
