Information
This Brut Champagne made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, leading varieties in the region, is produced by the head of this family estate - a winemaker who also gave his name to the property - in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. The massale-selected vines that are around 40 years old flourish in the temperate-oceanic climate with continental influence and they have been encouraged to draw all the necessary nutrients needed for their development from deep within the marl and limestone soils. They are cared for using environmentally friendly methods that are based on the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture. Low-intervention vinification is used in the cellar, typically meaning that indigenous yeasts are present during the fermentation process alongside a modest amount of sulphur.
A dense Champagne which will no doubt be welcome at any table or event. There is a lot of beautiful minerality, as well as fine bubbles and slightly oxidative notes that are reminiscent of stewed and dried fruits.
