Established after the Second World War, in the late 1940’s, Domain Ardhuy’s vineyards cover some forty hectares, divided into 125 parcels and forty appellations. It offers us this Volnay from the Premier Cru Les Frémiets. The Pinot Noir grapes which are used to make this wine were planted in 1908 from massale selection. The vines have been encouraged to draw the necessary nutrients for development from soils composed of silt and gravel, and are ideally situated at mid-slope, facing east and south-east at an altitude of around 250 metres. This is all thanks to using environmentally sound farming methods that are both organic and biodynamic.
This wine, with its ruby-red colour, oozes strong notes of well-ripened fruits, with light hints of wood, sweet spices and liquorice on the palate. The perfect accompaniment to a dish with meat or mature cheese.
