Information
About the producer

The estate was established in 1990 when Guillemard and Clerc inherited a small parcel of vines at the heart of the Burgundy winegrowing landscape. Over the years, the estate gradually expanded and now covers almost ten hectares of vines, planted on some of the finest terroirs in the region, including several Grands Crus. The Domaine Guillemard Clerc vines stretch alongside the charming village of Puligny-Montrachet, whose terroir produces internationally acclaimed white wines. Growing on clay and limestone soils, the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines act as ambassadors for their outstanding terroir, revealing all its secret qualities. Each parcel benefits from a different orientation and location, enabling the production of exceptional cuvées, each with very distinctive features. In the winery as in the vineyard, the estate applies balanced, sustainable methods to both cultivation and vinification.

About the wine

A hybrid of Pinot Noir and Gouais Blanc - the Chardonnay grape, which originates from Burgundy, is very adaptive to different terroirs, masterfully revealing all their particularities. Thanks to the composition of the clay-limestone soils, the Chardonnay vines act as ambassadors of the vineyard. Each parcel enjoys the benefits of healthy and committed viticulture. At harvest time, the grapes are picked at optimum ripeness and are carefully separated in order to conserve the high-quality raw-material. The grapes are vinified using a low-intervention method and traditional ageing process.
The elegant golden colour leads to an intense bouquet, revealing aromas of yellow fruits and buttery notes. On the palate, luscious vanilla and caramel flavours are delicately blended with hints of wood to produce a deliciously long finish. This cuvée will reveal its full range after a few years in the cellar.
