    About the producer

Yann Charlopin, son of the acclaimed Gevrey-Chambertin winemaker Philippe Charlopin, who established his domain in 1977, decided to grow his own vines and produce wines in his own image in 2013. The budding Charlopin-Tissier domain, which is located in Morey-Saint-Denis, spans four hectares of vineyards in the Côte d’Or, alongside some of the region’s most beautiful villages. The domain, which primarily produces red wines, nurtures its plots in the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune with great care. Although not certified, the winemaker has adopted practices similar to those applied in organic agriculture, giving him the freedom to retain control over each aspect of the production process. In the cellar, traditional vinification methods with as little intervention are common practice. The delicate, gourmet, fresh and elegant signature qualities of the cuvées produced by Domaine Charlopin-Tissier are guaranteed to get people talking for years to come.

    About the wine

The Pinot Noir vines that traverse the incomparable Gevrey-Chambertin are the jewels of this renowned appellation, famous for its strong and concentrated red wines. The vines are able to enjoy the benefits of organic farming, even though the estate is not yet certified. At harvest time, the grapes are picked entirely by hand to ensure that the raw-material is intact and of high-quality. The grapes are then vinified using a traditional and low-intervention method, allowing the fruits to develop their own flavours and personality naturally.
The ruby-red colour reveals a refined and concentrated nose, marked by aromas of black fruits with notes of licorice and subtle hints of spices. Full-bodied and fleshy on the palate, the tannins are perfectly integrated and balanced with the deliciousness of the fruity aromas, leading to a long and complex finish. This is a cuvée with outstanding ageing potential, which could be stored in the cellar indefinitely.
