    About the producer

Domaine Maratray-Dubreuil has been established in Ladoix-Serrigny for three generations. Maratray-Dubreuil was founded in 1835, when its founder Maurice Maratray decided to acquire his own vineyard. He married the daughter of the emblematic winegrower Pierre Dubreuil, a key figure on the Burgundian wine scene. Thanks to a lifetime’s work, the family business has grown to encompass almost 19 hectares of vines. Since 1997, François-Xavier Maratray and his sister Marie-Madeleine have been running the vineyard, which spans the region’s finest appellations. The winemakers tend the vines with special care at every stage. Each plot of Aligoté, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir is cultivated with the utmost attention to detail. Once harvested, the grapes are vinified in the finest Burgundy tradition, with the white wines matured in casks for 12 months and the reds for 18 months.

    About the wine

Produced on a 2.5-hectare plot located on the Corton Hill in Burgundy, this wine originates from Pinot Noir grapes planted on clay-limestone soils and enjoying an ideal south-east exposure, ensuring optimal grape maturity. The grapes are hand-picked to ensure a rigorous selection of quality raw materials. The vinification process begins with a cold maceration to extract aromas and colour, followed by alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. The cuvée is then aged in oak casks for 12 to 18 months, with a proportion of new vessels ranging from 30% to 50%, depending on the vintage, adding woody notes and extra complexity.
This nectar stands out with its intense ruby colour and complex aromas of red and black fruits, such as cherry and blackberry, along with hints of spice and undergrowth. On the palate, it reveals a powerful structure, fine tannins, and a lovely length, offering excellent ageing potential.
