Information
Winemaker Antoine Lienhardt is the head of this 5-hectare family estate which he inherited from his grandfather Maurice at the beginning of the 2010s. He produces this white Meursault from the Sous la Velle climat where Chardonnay vines, this emblematic Burgundy variety, grow. At around 60 years of age, the vines thrive on the oceanic climate with semi-continental influences and are encouraged to draw all the necessary nutrients needed for their development from deep within the soils composed of a 50cm layer of clay resting on a limestone bedrock. These vines are grown downhill from the local village using environmentally friendly organic and biodynamic methods.
In the cellar, the vinification process is meticulous, with the grapes being pressed directly. The juice is then settled for 24 hours before being placed in barrels, where fermentation is triggered by indigenous yeasts. The wine is then aged for ten months before being bottled without any added sulphur.
Its mute yellow colour with a heavy meniscus reveals notes of white and yellow fruits and hints of butter, fresh almonds and vanilla on the palate. A wonderful minerality enlivens the whole bottle.
