Information
Domaine Roblot-Marchand is located in Chambolle-Musigny, in the former heartland of the Abbey of Cîteaux, and spans the finest appellations of the Côte de Nuits. Established in 1910, the domain now owns nearly eight hectares of vines, which flourish on the sun-drenched slopes of this rich vineyard. Frédéric Roblot took over the family vineyard in 2001, closing down the wine merchant business initiated by his parents and deciding to bottle his own wine. In the cellar as well as in the vineyards, the winemaker adheres to the purest and most symbolic of Burgundy traditions, combining his methods with careful, meticulous soil cultivation. Once the grapes have been harvested entirely by hand, they are vinified with very little intervention. Domaine Roblot-Marchand is unquestionably one of the jewels in the crown of Burgundy’s winegrowing landscape.
The Roblot family has been crafting wines of great finesse and aromatic power for nearly five generations. This is how the estate has become a model on the world wine scene. To ensure the highest quality raw material, the estate respects Burgundian traditions and practises environmentally friendly viticulture. The Pinot Noir vines grow on clay and limestone soils at an altitude of between 250 and 300 metres, facing east. The harvested grapes are meticulously sorted before being vinified with as little intervention as possible. This 100% Pinot Noir is then aged for 16 to 18 months in oak casks, with 30% new wood.
The dark ruby-red colour reveals an expressive bouquet releasing intense aromas of red fruit combined with notes of spice. The perfectly balanced and elegant palate reveals fine tannins leading to a beautifully persistent finish.
