Information
This fresh, highly perfumed wine has a rich aromatic quality which does not dissolve on the palate. It is characterised by freshness and balance, enhanced by fresh fruit notes. Well chilled, it makes a superb aperitif.
The name Brunello di Montalcino undoubtedly refers to one of the most renowned Italian red wines in the world. The Sangiovese grapes are harvested entirely by hand at optimum ripeness during the second week of October. The grapes are sorted before and after destemming, before going through spontaneous fermentation in wooden barrels using their indigenous yeasts. The juices macerate here for 32 days and are punched down regularly. Finally, the wine is aged carefully in barrels for 36 months before being bottled to rest for a further 24 months.
The elegant dark colour, almost opaque, promises an expressive bouquet. The initially subtle nose reveals intense aromas of ripe strawberries. On the palate, luscious fruit flavours blend beautifully with subtle notes of leather and chocolate, enhanced by fine tannins, leading to a deliciously long finish. This cuvée promises to age well.
