Information
Produced by the Wasenhaus estate located in Staufen im Breisgau, Germany, the Vulkan cuvée is crafted from Pinot Noir grapes. The grapes used to produce this red wine are nurtured on volcanic soils found only in the Baden region, which provide a distinct minerality and aromatic complexity. The mineral-rich volcanic terrain where the Wasenhaus vineyard stretches provides ideal conditions for growing Pinot Noir. The grapes are hand-picked, ensuring a rigorous selection of the healthiest, most mature bunches. The winemaking methods are traditional and organic, with the greatest respect for the terroir.
The grapes ferment naturally with native yeasts, and the juice is matured in oak casks for an extended period, contributing subtle woody notes and a harmonious tannic structure. This nectar is characterised by a light ruby-red colour and intense aromas of cherry, spice, oak and chocolate. On the palate, it offers silky tannins and a good acidity, providing a long, well-balanced drinking experience.
