About the producer
The Ladyburn distillery was built in the West Lowlands in 1966 by William Grant & Sons in its Girvan complex. At the time, it was common practice to build malt distilleries inside grain distilleries. Ladyburn was originally used as an ingredient in the group’s blends and to take pressure of Glenfiddich, which was beginning to gain renown as a single malt. Ladyburn was eventually dismantled in 1975 when Girvan was expanded. Ladyburn bottlings are rare, even among independent bottlers.
About the wine
An official 8 year old bottling from the very rare Ladyburn distillery, released in the 1990s.
