Information
Maison Camille Thiriet is located in Côte d’Or, at the heart of the Côte de Nuits, just opposite the sumptuous Château de Comblanchien. The business was founded by Canadian cellar master Matt Chittick and Burgundy devotee Camille Thiriet back in 2016. The pair met when they were both working at the iconic Domaine de Bellene, where Matt had was cellar master since 2011 and Camille sales manager from 2014. Together they fulfilled their dream of producing Burgundy wines under their own label. Thanks to their extensive apprenticeship, they forged an extensive network of renowned winegrowers in the Côte d’Or, allowing them to source the highest-quality fruit. They strive to vinify grapes grown in small appellations and fine terroirs with the utmost care and diligence. Maison Camille Thiriet unveiled its first vintages in 2016 and is committed to organic viticulture for future cuvées.
A veritable ambassador for the Burgundy winemaking landscape, Pinot Noir reflects all the facets of this exceptional terroir with authenticity and finesse. The estate maintains meticulous practices in the vineyard, applying traditional methods inherited from previous generations. Every stage is performed naturally, both in the winery and in the vineyard. Pumping over with a bucket, foot treading and a ratchet press form the backbone of the estate’s low-intervention vinification methods. Fermentations are triggered by native yeasts naturally present in the berries. The cuvée is then bottled before being meticulously labelled and waxed manually.
The rich ruby colour reveals an alluring bouquet of fresh red fruit mingling beautifully with hints of spice and undergrowth. On the palate, a lovely structure and supple tannins reveal fruity aromas combined with woody flavours, leading to a long, flavoursome finish.
