Information
Let’s head to South Africa and visit a family estate located in the Western Cape, east of Stellenbosch, founded by Jayne and Raoul Beaumont in the mid-1970s. The estate is currently run by Sebastian Beaumont, who produces a white wine which, as the name suggests, is produced from Chenin Blanc, a grape variety proving very popular in this country.
The grapes are harvested early in the season to retain their organoleptic freshness, before being pressed as soon as they reach the winery. The slow fermentation process is performed in inert containers such as concrete and stainless steel vats, reflecting the same goal of preserving the freshness of the grapes. The wine is then aged on its lees a period of six months in vats.
Concentrated and dense, this pure Chenin reveals a remarkable fruity character complemented by great freshness. This wine is best savoured young.
