Information
These Syrah vines are tucked in the heart of the Côte Blonde and flourish beautifully in sandy clay soil. The vineyard's lease ended in 2018, meaning Mathieu Chambeyron no longer cultivates these vines, so this particular cuvée is just as rare as it is delicious. Once the grapes are harvested by hand, they are carefully sorted before being entirely separated from the stems. The fruit is left to macerate in temperature-regulated vats for around 21 days, during which the cap is punched down and the fermenting juice is pumped over several times. Finally, the cuvée is aged for 20 months in French oak casks, 20% of which are new, before being bottled.
The ruby colour unveils strong aromas of violet, dried flowers, and black cherry. The quintessentially luxurious and distinct mouthfeel of this Syrah cuvée is expressed with depth and balance. The tannins mix beautifully with an elegant acidity, for a long, delicate finish. This cuvée is well-suited for cellaring.
