    Information
    About the producer

Jean-Marie Fourrier took over the 10 hectare family domaine in Gevrey-Chambertin in the 1990s at the age of 23. He gained his experience at Domaine Drouhin and from the legendary Henry Jayer and took over the family traditions. He has plots in Griotte-Chambertin and in the Clos St Jacques whose vines were planted at the beginning of the last century. Jean-Marie Fourier works his vines as naturally as possible, with very little intervention and with minimal use of sulphites and new wood. His wines are of a very high standard and are characterised by their great aromatic purity

    About the wine

The Bonnes-Mares appellation is a must from the Côte de Nuits, as it captures the essence of an iconic Grand Cru. Right in the middle of Morey-Saint-Denis and Chambolle-Musigny, it brings together two varieties with rich, sophisticated flavours. The vines grow at around 250 to 280 metres high and enjoy the rich white marl and limestone soil. Both at the winery and in the vineyards, each step in the winemaking process aims to preserve and express the unique nature of this exceptional terroir. After the grapes are harvested, traditional winemaking methods are implemented using as little intervention as possible to keep the extraordinary depth of aromas.
A bright ruby colour offers intense and complex aromas, with notes of red berries like raspberry. The mouthfeel presents subtle tannins which balance perfectly with the flavours of fruit and chocolate, ending with a long and delicate finish. This cuvée can easily be cellared for 15 to 20 years.
