Information
Domaine de l'Anglore is a flagship natural domain of the moment. The estate spans 4 hectares in Tavel, renowned for its rosé production, and is managed by Eric Pfifferling. This former apicultor turned to winemaking after seeing his bees die because of the insecticides used in the region. He practiced biodynamic viticulture right from the beginning: the soils are tilled so as to preserve the natural balance between roots and 'weeds'. His rosés are considered among the best in the world.
Located on the western side of the Rhône river, this southern French terroir is nestled between Avignon and Uzès and packs unparalleled flavours. This 100% Grenache cuvée hails from a plot planted a long time ago by Eric Pfifferling’s grandfather, in the heart of the white clay terroir of Tavel. Pfifferling loves his terroir and makes natural wine using organic methods. He aims to let the full spectrum of flavours of this region come through both in the vineyards as well as in the final product. All chemical fertilisers are prohibited to make way for gentler, more attentive techniques. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand and are gentle vinified with the least amount of intervention possible. This cuvée was specifically matured for two years in concrete tanks before being bottled, resulting in a remarkably subtle and delicate flavour profile.
The raspberry-red colour makes way for explosive aromas of ripe red berries. The first wave of aromas is sweet and full-bodied, and it quickly evolves into a delicate, perfectly balanced acidity.
