Information
Join us in the Luberon for a tour of Château des Tourettes, the birthplace of this Vin de France baptised Tinus. This estate is operated by Jean-Marie Guffens, the legendary winemaker nicknamed ‘the white wine goldsmith’ by many. This blend of Marsanne is made from carefully cultivated vines on a parcel stretching across the high plateau of L’Aigle. There, the vines have drawn the nutrients necessary to flourish from the limestone-rich soil.
Once in the winery, the hand-picked grapes are meticulously sorted and pressed. The winemaker only retains the juice from the first press for the vinification process. This juice, considered as the purest, offers the best level of acidity which ensures a perfectly balanced wine. The juice is vinified in tulip-shaped concrete vats and the wine is then matured on its lees for a few months, also in concrete vats fitted with rounded bottoms so that the lees settle into suspension naturally and impart character to the wine. The result is a particularly fruity and floral cuvée. Precise and balanced, with great depth.
