Information
Marc Delienne learnt the viticultural trade at the Trévallon domain in Provence with Eloi Durrbach. In 2015, he purchased a property with 14 hectares in Fleurie, believing strongly in the region's potential for growth in fine wine. He set out to convert the domain to organic production, then to biodynamics in 2016. The domain has now been fully certified for 2 years. Since this wine makers first vintages, he has been making flavourful and balanced wines with delicate tannins and notes of red fruits and blueberry. One to watch in Beaujolais!
Marc Delienne’s estate is relatively new to the dynamic Beaujolais wine scene, having entered the trade with the excellent 2015 vintage following a career in the IT sector. This is a white wine from the Côte Chalonnaise in the Saint-Véran appellation. The Chardonnay grapes used to produce this wine stem from meticulous organic cultivation, certified biodynamic since 2016. In the winery, the grapes receive the same respectful treatment, through gentle, natural vinification. The fermentation process is triggered by the indigenous yeasts alone.
Tasting reveals a wine that is best enjoyed young. It displays a pale yellow colour with shimmering tints, introducing a delicate fragrance predominantly characterised by notes of white fruit, vineyard peach and floral aromas such as honeysuckle. On the palate, it is fluid, with a supple, slightly buttery texture. The finish culminates on a fresh almond impression, with a lingering minerality.
