Information
Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru by Jean-Marc Millot is a true gem of Burgundy. The vines, which were planted there over 60 years ago, are rooted on a clay-limestone soil that provides ideal conditions for growing Pinot Noir grapes. The hand-harvested grapes are then totally destemmed before undergoing cold pre-fermentation maceration for 15 days. This process allows maximum extraction of the grapes’ aromas and flavours. Vinification continues with ageing in oak barrels for 16 months, of which 40% are new. This method gives the wine deeper, riper tannins and a remarkable structure.
As for aromas, this bottle offers an impressive complexity - it reveals notes of red and black fruits, accompanied by subtle spices and a slightly roasted profile. On the palate, the minerality and concentration combine with an invigorating freshness to create a rich, long-lasting tasting experience. Its deep red colour and tannic structure offer the potential for excellent ageing.
