Information
Domaine Dubreuil-Fontaine has a superb heritage of vines in the Corton and Corton-Charlemagne appellation. This hill endowed with a wood is located in the middle of the towns of Aloxe-Corton, Ladoix and Pernand-Vergelesse. This domaine produces equally superb red and white wines found in Michelin starred restaurants .
Domaine Dubreuil-Fontaine has been in the Côte de Beaune for five generations, producing great wines from wonderful Premier and Grand Cru appellations. In the hands of Christine Dubreuil and her daughter Clémentine, they craft this Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru from Chardonnay vines that are around 30 years old. Harvested by hand, the grapes undergo traditional vinification, with minimal intervention, in oak barrels, 30% of which are new. In order to give the wine body, character, flavour and good cellaring potential, the domain uses bâtonnage (stirring of the lees), following which the lees are put back into suspension. The wine is then aged in wooden barrels for a year.
This wine, which can be enjoyed for up to ten years, has a grandeur that makes it an excellent match for fine dishes. It reveals a golden colour that intensifies over time. From the glass escape varied notes of white and yellow fruits, some exotic fruits, toasted dried fruits, sweet spices and butter. Introduced in this way, the palate reveals itself to be full-bodied and rich, with a striking minerality running through it, typical of the exceptional Corton terroir.
