Information
The iconic Maison Romane produces a single-varietal red wine from Pinot Noir vines planted in the Côte de Nuits-Villages appellation in Burgundy. The grapes grow on vines averaging some forty-year-old, on soils predominantly consisting of clay and limestone. Each plot is tended according to organic viticulture methods and a natural approach. The hand-picked grapes are vinified in whole bunches. Alcoholic fermentation, achieved with natural yeasts, is performed in oak barrels for around three weeks. The wine is then aged for 12 months in oak barrels before being bottled without filtration or bottle maturation.
The bright red colour reveals an intense and heady bouquet of complex and expressive red fruit aromas. On the palate, the freshness of fruity aromas and mineral notes meld perfectly in a velvety texture.
