Information
This Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru produced by Lucie and Auguste Lignier stems from vines planted in clay and limestone-rich soils, imparting outstanding complexity and depth to the Pinot Noir grapes. The couple’s winemaking method is extremely meticulous. Partial destemming is followed by natural fermentation triggered by native yeasts, and gentle regular punching down of the cap contributes to extract the finest flavours and colour from the grapes. This nectar is then aged in French oak barrels, with around 30% new wood, for 12 to 18 months. This maturation method produces delicate aromas of vanilla and spices, while preserving the purity of the fruit.
This Premier cru cuvée reveals a refined range of aromas, combining notes of ripe red fruit, violets, spices and a touch of liquorice. With its silky tannic structure and harmonious balance, this fine wine is a real elixir that can be enjoyed young or aged in a cellar to develop further complexity.
