Information
This Chassagne-Montrachet is produced from two parcels cultivated with organic methods. The first one, located to the north of the vineyard area near Puligny, stretches on very chalky soils that give the wine a lively, mineral profile. The second one, near the heart of Chassagne-Montrachet, has deeper and more clayey soils, which impart a fleshy density and aromatic richness to the juice. Benoît Moreau produces this wine with native yeasts, and ages it in casks and demi-muids (600-litre barrels) with a small percentage of new wood to allow the fruit to express all its potential.
This nectar is characterised by expressive aromas and a perfect balance. On the nose, it opens with notes of rubbed stone and flint, green pepper, lemon and orange zest, pear, blanched almond and acacia honey. With aeration, exotic notes of passion fruit and mango surface alongside hints of coconut water and hazelnut. On the palate, this elixir offers a supple slightly buttery texture with notes of meringue and pastry.
