Information
This red wine for the Canary Islands appellation is a masterpiece made from the Listán Negro variety. This cuvée is cultivated on volcanic soil in the picturesque region of Taganana, in the northeastern part of Tenerife. These century-old vines, most of which are over 120 years old, were planted at an altitude of 1100 metres, and are harvested by hand. The grapes ferment naturally in cement tanks. Afterwards, the cuvée is matured on lees for an entire year in 2500-litre vats and in neutral oak casks. A minimal amount of sulphur is added before being bottled.
This wine has both vibrant fruit aromas and a pleasant simplicity, with hints of forest floor, smoke, earthy minerals and leather. The palate manages to be light and full-bodied with a touch of sea salt, reminiscent of the volcanic terroir. The intense finish flaunts robust, luscious tannins.
