    Information
    About the producer

In 2005, the best terroirs belonging to Domaine Vico, a 77-hectare estate managed by Jean-Marc and Manu Venturi, were separated from the domain to create Clos Venturi (25 hectares today). The vines once belonged to the Vico family (purchased in 1901) and were then bought by the Acquaviva Venturi family at the end of the 1980s. The estate’s goal is to highlight the diversity and characteristics of local varieties.
Today, the vines - Vermentino for the whites and Syrah, Niellucio and Sciaccarellu for the reds and rosés - are tended to with the greatest respect to produce unique, high-quality wines. Animals working in the vineyards, organic and biodynamic certificates, manual harvests, plot-by-plot selection and fermentation started by natural yeasts are just some of the methods at the estate. Vinification and maturation method vary depending on what the winemaker chooses also helps set this estate, which is both the estate at the highest altitude in Corsica and the only one located in the centre of the Ile de Beauté IPG, apart.

    About the wine

This Corsican red wine is a perfect illustration of its terroir. It is produced from the native variety Carcaghjolu Neru, which is cultivated using biodynamic methods without any additives. The vineyard is planted on soil that is rich and diverse and benefits from a warm, windy climate that has a fairly large temperature difference between the daytime and at night. This unique combination promotes healthy, high-quality grapes. There is first a green harvest, followed by a manual harvest. The grapes are vinified with a layer of native yeast in stainless steel tanks, followed by 18 months of maturation in 500-litre vats.
This robust wine stands out with its beautiful garnet colour and its light body. The nose flaunts aromas of black and red berries, enhanced by hints of spice and an earthy quality reminiscent of forest floor. The palate boasts tannins that at first seem rustic but without being abrasive, followed by a velvety quality, underlined by fruit and a hint of pepper. This is a wine that can be enjoyed over time.
