Information
Maison Camille Thiriet is located in Côte d’Or, at the heart of the Côte de Nuits, just opposite the sumptuous Château de Comblanchien. The business was founded by Canadian cellar master Matt Chittick and Burgundy devotee Camille Thiriet back in 2016. The pair met when they were both working at the iconic Domaine de Bellene, where Matt had was cellar master since 2011 and Camille sales manager from 2014. Together they fulfilled their dream of producing Burgundy wines under their own label. Thanks to their extensive apprenticeship, they forged an extensive network of renowned winegrowers in the Côte d’Or, allowing them to source the highest-quality fruit. They strive to vinify grapes grown in small appellations and fine terroirs with the utmost care and diligence. Maison Camille Thiriet unveiled its first vintages in 2016 and is committed to organic viticulture for future cuvées.
Located opposite the Château de Comblanchien in the Côte d’Or, at the heart of the Côte de Nuits, the Pinot Noir vines flourish on limestone soils with a high iron content, at an altitude of around 250 metres. The harvest is meticulous so as to preserve only the most beautiful bunches. Once in the winery, the Pinot Noir grapes are vinified in whole clusters. Fermentations are triggered spontaneously by native yeasts naturally present in the berries. This cuvée matures for 12 months in oak casks, 20% of which are new, before being bottled with great care.
The ruby-red colour reveals a bewitching bouquet, with delicate red fruit aromas that will develop into hints of chocolate after a few years’ cellaring. The palate reveals a superb balance of fullness and roundness, leading to a finish of remarkable, delicious length.
