Information
Founded in Beaune in 1880, the Joseph Drouhin house is now run by the four children of Robert Drouhin. Present throughout Burgundy, but also in the United States in Oregon, its reputation is worldwide. It also has a domain of its own, including a vineyard of 72 hectares.
This Meursault from Domaine Joseph Drouhin is a classic Burgundy Chardonnay, embodying all the elegance of the Meursault appellation. Its pale colour, sometimes golden, is clear and radian.
On the nose, this wine reveals a beautiful bouquet of white-fleshed fruits, such as pear and peach, complemented by delicate notes of hazelnut, toasted almond, and a subtle buttery hint. At its peak, it reveals deeper aromas of toasted bread, honey, and caramel. On the palate, the wine offers a round attack, with a perfect balance between ripe fruit flavours and buttery undertones. Its creamy, velvety texture is beautifully supported by a refreshing acidity, which adds both structure and elegance. The finish is long and offers hints of dry fruit and hazelnut butter.
This Meursault pairs wonderfully with creamy dishes, seafood, grilled fish, fish in sauce and creamy cheeses like Brie or Camembert. Best served chilled, between 10 and 12°C, to allow it to reveal its full complexity and elegance.
