Located in California, Napa Valley is the United States’ most prestigious wine appellation. It played a central role in the revival of Californian winemaking after the Second World War, and its terroir – shaped by cool mists from San Pablo Bay and inland heat – creates a rare diversity of growing conditions. Among its iconic wines is Martha's Vineyard, a renowned single-vineyard located in Oakville, planted in the 1960s. This iconic vineyard is planted on predominantly gravelly alluvial soils with some red ferrous clay. The grapes are hand?harvested, then fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel vats before undergoing extended ageing in American oak barrels for more than three years followed by further bottle ageing prior to release.
This intense purple wine has a complex nose with notes of peppermint, blackberries, cedar, cinnamon and dark chocolate. On the palate, elegance prevails: a silky texture, integrated tannins, and notes of blackcurrant, leather and eucalyptus, leading to a very fresh finish.
