Information
About the producer

Domaine Antonin Guyon in Sauvigny-lès-Beaune was founded by Antonin Guyon in the 1960s before he passed on the torch to his son Dominique in 1970. At this time the domain spanned 22 hectares on the Hautes-Côtes-de-Nuits. Since then, the vineyard has expanded to the size of 48 hectares, thus covering several appellations in the Côte-de-Nuits and Côte-de-Beaune and including several premiers crus and grands crus. These are powerful wines in a classic style. The domain is considered one of the best in the Côte de Beaune.

About the wine

Located in the northern part of the Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin is one of Burgundy’s most prestigious appellations. While the village is home to nine Grands crus and 26 Premier crus, even its localities classified at village level, such as La Justice, are capable of rivalling wines from higher-ranked sites. This climat lies at the foot of the slope, close to the village. The vines grow on light, stony, well-drained clay-limestone soils. The grapes are harvested by hand, followed by rigorous sorting in the vineyard and on the sorting table. In the winery, fermentation follows traditional methods in open vats, with regular punch-downs and pump overs. The wine is then aged in French oak casks for around 12 months.
The intense ruby hue introduces a nose of ripe red fruit, violet, fine spices and well-integrated oak. Supple on the attack, the palate reveals fine tannins and a silky texture, leading to a finish marked by floral and mineral notes.
