Information
The Brunello di Montalcino appellation, located in Tuscany south of Siena, is one of the flagships of Italian wine. The terroir’s steep hills, shaped by striking geological and climatic diversity, give the wines exceptional ageing potential and a unique expression of Sangiovese. Podere San Giuseppe, Stella di Campalto’s estate, lies in the south-eastern part of Montalcino on the slopes of Monte Amiata, an ancient volcano that strongly influences both soil and climate. The vineyard, surrounded by forest, is planted at altitudes ranging from 250 to 370 metres. The extremely rare and confidential Amore cuvée is produced only in the rare vintages where one or several barrels stand out on account of their distinctive energy. Following traditional vinification, the wine is aged on fine lees for 36 months in large Allier oak casks and big barrels, without racking.
The wine displays a stunning ruby-red hue. The pure, subtle nose reveals notes of fresh red fruit, dried rose, orange peel, wild thyme, incense and damp earth. The palate shows remarkable finesse, with a masterful balance of tension and depth.
