Information
This wine is crafted from a meticulous blend of Grenache Blanc, Grenache Gris and Grenache Noir. Clos les Escounils is a rare, confidential walled parcel set on clay-limestone slopes interlaced with brown schist, in a sector where wind and light are ever-present. This complex soil gives the wine structure, salinity and freshness, while preserving a precise mineral imprint. The estate is farmed organically with gentle practices including natural treatments, partial grass covers and exclusively manual harvesting. In the winery, whole clusters are pressed slowly to preserve finesse and tension. Fermentation takes place spontaneously, followed by 18 months of ageing on the lees.
The wine displays a luminous pale yellow hue. The nose is subtle and complex, characterised by white-fleshed fruit, citrus and acacia blossom, notes lifted by a delightful chalky minerality and a touch of fresh almond. On tasting, the wine combines breadth and verticality, with chiselled texture, lively freshness and a saline edge.
