Information
Les Quartiers de Nuits is a locality that lies at the southern edge of Vosne-Romanée, right on the border with Nuits-Saint-Georges. Once farmland for vegetables and livestock, these parts were gradually converted to a vineyard in the 19?? century. The soils consist of deep clay-limestone with traces of silt and grey marl. The hand-picked clusters are destalked and ferment naturally in temperature-controlled vats using native yeasts. Ageing continues for 12 months in oak casks, with 15% new wood. The wine is then bottled without fining or filtration.
In the glass, the wine reveals a ruby-red hue graced with purplish tints. The expressive nose reveals notes of black cherry, blackcurrant and sweet spice, set against a lightly smoky, earthy undertone. The palate opens with supple attack revealing fine-grained tannins, leading into a persistent, fruit-driven finish.
