Information
Ribera del Duero, one of Spain’s iconic appellations, is renowned for powerful yet elegant red wines crafted primarily from Tempranillo. This wine comes from century-old vines rooted at 870 metres altitude in a cool enclave surrounded by pines and junipers. The soils combine sand and pebbles on the surface with underlying clay, marl and limestone. After hand-harvesting, the grapes are foot-crushed in the traditional way. Fermentation takes place in concrete vats with native yeasts naturally present on the berries. The wine then undergoes prolonged ageing for 51 months in an underground cellar.
In the glass, the dark hue is elevated by ruby glints. The intense nose opens with red and black fruit, violet and toasted spice. The powerful and generous palate reveals velvety tannins and a silky structure, leading to a persistent, fruit-driven finish.
