Information
Gigondas stands as one of the pillars of the southern Rhône Valley, renowned for its powerful, characterful red wines. Sourced from parcels planted on sandy, silty and clay-limestone soils divided into 23 islets, this varied terroir lends La Numéro Huit a distinctive saline freshness, finesse and delicate floral expression. Manual harvests are followed by fermentation with native yeasts. The fruit undergoes a long maceration, and the wine is aged without fining or filtration, with only minimal sulphur added.
The wine shows an intense, brilliant garnet-red colour, a sign of concentration and maturity. The expressive, complex nose opens with juicy black fruit layered with garrigue, sweet spices and delicate floral nuances. The palate combines breadth and refinement, carried by smooth, well-integrated tannins and leading into a fruit-driven, persistent finish.
