Information
One of the most iconic terroirs of the Côte-Rôtie, Les Grandes Places is often compared to the most celebrated Burgundy crus. The locality’s reputation stems from its steep, south-east-facing slopes, which capture optimal sunlight and produce wines of exceptional power, complexity and remarkable longevity. The precipitous terrain requires manual harvesting. After meticulous sorting, the grapes ferment spontaneously in the winery during a long, four-week maceration with regular punch-downs and pump-overs. The wine is then aged for 18 months in French oak casks.
In the glass, the intense purple hue shows violet glints. The complex, refined nose carries notes of black fruit, spice and violet. On the palate, a firm, structured frame reveals tightly knit yet elegant tannins, leading into a long, refined, mineral finish that clearly reflects an exceptional Côte-Rôtie terroir.
