Information
Alix and Etienne de Montille took over the family domaine located in Volnay which their father Hubert made famous. In addition to the family domain, the two brothers and sisters started a trading business: Deux Montille Soeur et Frère. The grapes are very carefully selected, and the winemaking and the élevage are given the same care as the domain. A great recommendation.
Nestled on the southern edge of Meursault, Les Charmes stands as one of the most celebrated Premiers Crus of the Côte de Beaune. This revered terroir is traditionally divided into two sectors: Charmes-Dessus and Charmes-Dessous. This wine is predominantly sourced from vines located in Charmes-Dessus. Following manual harvests, the Chardonnay grapes undergo gentle pressing. The juice is then settled for 24 hours before being transferred to oak casks for a slow, spontaneous fermentation. Ageing lasts 15 months in cask, with 50% new oak.
In the glass, the wine displays a pale yellow hue with golden reflections. The nose reveals aromas of white flowers, pear and almond, enhanced by buttery nuances. On the palate, a rich yet fresh attack reveals a fine balance of sweetness and salinity, carried by notes of praline, spice and vanilla.
