    About the producer

Tino Kuban, a passionate and enthusiastic winemaker, took over the reins of Domaine Bernard van Berg located in Meursault, giving it the charming name we know today, Les Jardins Vivants (The Living Gardens). He cultivates one and a half hectares of vines at the heart of this exceptional terroir, where low yields and early-morning harvests guarantee premium quality fruit. Alongside his rigorous work as a winemaker, Tino has developed his own wine merchant business, Maison Glandien. He sources grapes from partner winemakers and friends located in various winegrowing regions, including Burgundy and Beaujolais, as well as Alsace and the Jura. He seeks out grapes from sustainable, integrated viticulture that comply with his high quality standards. During the vinification process, spontaneous fermentation, minimal use of sulphites and ageing in used barrels all guarantee authentic, flavoursome wines.

    About the wine

La Lumière is crafted from Chardonnay vines grown by Domaine Les Jardins Vivants on a densely planted half-hectare parcel in the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise. The clay-limestone soils, composed of marl and scattered pebbles, naturally limit yields, resulting in remarkable aromatic concentration. The grapes, cultivated according to organic principles, are harvested by hand. In the winery, whole clusters are foot-crushed before being pressed vertically. Fermentation occurs naturally with native yeasts. Finally, the wine is aged on its fine lees for 19 months in new 228-litre oak barriques.
The pale gold hue is bright and clear. The intense bouquet reveals aromas of white fruit, ripe citrus, and hazelnut. On the palate, a lively attack reveals incredible tension and subtle minerality, wrapped in a supple, deep texture that leads to a delightfully long and mouthwatering finish.
