As a young wine it develops fine aromas that evoke cherry, bitter chocolate and violets. Its fragrances mature on ageing into refined notes of undergrowth, truffle, fine leather and sometimes cigar and cedar. Grands-Echezeaux outclasses Echezeaux in strength, generosity and volume.
