    The wine

Family domain Humbert is reputed in many respects, and its owners are cousins of the famous Dujacs. This domain is known for their production of characterful wines thanks to a more energetic extraction technique.
In the glass, this Charmes-Chambertin has a deep, ruby colour and a bouquet that marries finesse and complexity. It gives off notes of red fruit (redcurrant, raspberry, cherry), dark fruits, gentle spices, and musk. After ageing or a while, it will develop notes of coffee, liquorice, leather, and even vanilla. It is full-bodied and dense on the palate. Structured by good tannins, it requires some time in the cellar to soften. Its intensity makes it a good cuvée for pairing with characterful dishes such as game in sauce, truffle risotto, or fillet steak with mushrooms.

    Information about domain Humbert

Frédéric Humbert and his brother Emmanuel have been at the head of the family domaine since 1989. The family has many wine growers and their cousins are none other than the Dugats. The 7 hectare domaine is based on ideally located plots in the village of Gevrey, including: villages, premier crus and a plot of Charmes-Chambertin. The Humbert brothers bet that they could make the wines a little more full-bodied than their neighbours. The wines thus have a slightly darker colour and are very intense on the palate. Red wine takes sixteen to eighteen months to mature and the wines have great aging potential. The range has continued to gain in definition in recent years. All the cuvées are thus of excellent quality.
