Lot presentation

Cahors Clos Triguedina Coffret Au coin du Bois,Petites Cailles,Les Galets Jean-Luc Baldès 2007

The wine

This case contains three bottles of Clos Triguedina, an estate located in the region of Cahors - famed for its wine production - in the south-west of France. The property covers almost 70 hectares, practices polyculture and creates the cuvées included in this exploration case: Au Coin du Bois, Petites Cailles, and Les Galets. These three wines are produced from the leading grape variety of the region - Malbec. The vines, planted on clay-limestone soils, are located on the terrace in touching distance of the river Lot. These specific soils contribute to the complexity and the richness of the vines. The wines are aged in oak barrels, which gives them their richness and body.
Generous and powerful, with well-integrated tannins, they are also very fresh, allowing them to be enjoyed both young and after a few years' cellaring. This case allows you to discover Malbec as a single grape variety all whilst exploring different expressions of the estate’s terroirs. Each wine, although sharing the same grape variety, reveals unique differences thanks to the diversity of the soils and microclimates at Clos Triguedina.

About the Producer Clos Triguedina

étienne Baldès planted his first Cahors parcels in 1830. Six generations later, Jean Luc Baldès has masterfully raised the family domaine to the top level of the Cahors appellation, constantly introducing innovative production techniques. Located to the south of Cahors, near Puy l'Evêque, the domaine is nestled between the meandering river Lot and spreads over 70 hectares. Its clay-limestone soil, similar to Pomerol's soil composition, is perfect for producing great vintages.
