Domain: Joseph Voillot A five-generation family domaine, Domaine Joseph Voillot in Volnay covers 10 hectares divided into 35 parcels and 17 appellations, Volnay, Pommard, Meursault and Beaune. In 1995, Joseph Voillot retired and his son-in-law, Jean Pierre Charlot, took over the reins. Jean-Pierre Charlot is an expert in enology, a subject he taught for a long time in Beaune. The work in the vineyards and the cellar is classical but everything is done well. At the vineyard, the soils are worked twice or three times a year and in the winery, vinification is traditional and fragmented, with native yeasts and pressing. Élevage lasts between 16 and 18 months, with about 25% new barrels. This domaine is particularly renowned for its finesse and the perfect balance of its wines.
