The perfect alliance between freshness and structure, this Burgundy possesses the most wonderful small red fruit aromas.
More infoThis Burgundy is a blend of Pinot Noir with 80% of them coming from the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits as well as some from the Côte de Couchois (located to the north-west of the Côte Chalonnaise) where the wines are known for their freshness. Beaujolais Pinot Noir is added to complete the blend, bringing colour and fruit flavours with it. The grapes are grown with as few chemicals as possible, harvested by hand and sorted when they arrive at the cellar. Pre-fermentation cold maceration enhances the red fruit notes found in the wine. Half of the cuvée is matured in oak barrels for one to four years. The rest is matured in vats to create the perfect alliance between freshness and structure.
This purple Burgundy reveals notes of small red fruits but also black cherry and blackcurrants with a hint of spices. On the palate, it is supple, very fruity, and structured by fine tannins before a wonderfully fresh finish takes its place. A blue-chip wine to be drunk while young.

About the Producer Edouard Delaunay
Based in the Côte de Nuits, in the heart of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Maison Edouard Delaunay takes its name from its founder, who established it in 1893. Success came quickly, and wines were soon distributed by leading merchants and served in prestigious settings, from the French Senate to, more impressively still, the Palais de l’Élysée.
Although over time the Maison lost some of its prestige, Laurent Delaunay, one of the founder’s descendants, took on the challenge of restoring it to its former glory in 2017. Under his direction, an impressive portfolio of twenty-five appellations is vinified, including nine grands crus and eight premiers crus from the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. Work in the winery is meticulous and guided by respect for the fruit, with the aim of avoiding excessive extraction to create refined wines that express their terroir and individual plots with clarity and finesse.
